Read the Part - I of this story here.
Shoaib Malik was obviously the talk of the town, and of the cricket fans in both India and Pakistan. And amidst all the brouhaha over Malik finally escaping a legal mess by divorcing his former wife, another Pakistani story seems to have popped up.
Mohammad Asif, of the doping/possessing cocaine in Dubai fame, is said to be sued by his former girl-friend, Veena Malik now! No, she does not claim to be his wife, but has dragged him to court for the non-payment of money that she had lent him.
And the sum of money was worth more than ten million rupees! She has claimed that she had paid him the money when he was not doing too well and stood by him, but now that he had ditched her to think of marrying someone else, she needed her money back.
Of course. Why not. But ten million bucks in any currency - except probably Zimbabwean - is huge money. Why, in the first place, did Asif need that much? This is a question that would/should be asked in the court; whatever happened to the money that now, Asif is not able to repay it back to her.
On the cricket field, Asif believes in keeping the ball up to the bat and get the batsmen to nick it, but off it, its the bounce! Even with the cheques!
