Aussies revel at the Feroz Shah Kotla!

March 30th 2010 05:01
The Delhi-Kolkata IPL game was dominated by the Aussies. The men from down under made more noise news than it was possibly feasible on a ground where the din that the audiences exhibited confused me about whom were they supporting!

There was the David Hussey catch. Not too many catches come close, but for a tournament to have two catches of similar quality, is plain amazing. That, on the same ground, Feroz Shah Kotla!

Then, even before that catch, the other David, Warner, had sizzled the Kotla with a century that not underlined the manner in which he bats, but also the maturity that he has begun to exhibit in recent times.

Dirk Nannes was in the news, though for a totally different reason. Yeah, he was economical as he usually is. A tad over three overs he bowled for 15 runs. But it was in the fourth over that he hurt his finger so bad that it was bleeding. May miss out on some games if it is as bad as one thinks it is!

And obviously, Andrew McDonald opened the bowling for the Delhi Daredevils! No kidding! Has he ever done that for Victoria?
